LINCOS is an initiative of
the Costa Rica Foundation for
Sustainable Development (CRFSD).
CRFSD began operations in
1998, under the direction of former President of Costa Rica, José
María Figueres Olsen (1994 – 1998), with the purpose
of promoting sustainable development oriented programs and projects
in developing countries. Our president actively participates in
international forums, generating awareness and a change of attitude
towards the problem of the environment in our planet. He also proposes
the mechanisms to be used by the nations in order to achieve growth
and economic development in harmony with nature.
CRFSD is based in Ochomogo,
Cartago, 20 km from San José, capital of Costa Rica. Located
at the foot of La Carpintera Mountains, it is a wild area protected
by the Ministry of Energy and the Environment of the Costa Rican
Government.
The mission of our organization is to propose solutions to the
problems faced by the developing countries, to improve the quality
of life of their citizens by means of technological applications.
Environmental protection, strategic investment in human development
and the macroeconomic aspects of the countries are also important
parts of our project.
Visit the CRFSD website to
learn more about our other development programmes.
